Anubis also called Anpu
The jackal-headed god responsible for the processes of embalming and the
protection of cemeteries.
- He guided the deceased through the underworld to the throne of Osiris.
- His father is Re and mother either Nephthys or Isis.
- He was in charge of "weighing" the heart of the deceased in the Hall
of the Two Truths. Egyptians believed the heart was the seat of the soul.
The brain and all other internal organ were removed and put in a jar. I
guess so they wouldn't rot.
- Osisis would decide what place in the after life, the deceased would go.
