Avalon, the magical island, presided over by Morgan le Fay. Avalon is also
called "the enchanted isle", "isle of apples", "Insuls Avallonis (In Geoffrey's
text)" or "the Fortunate Isles".
Morgan le Fay, a kind enchantress, sorceress, magician, a goddess, a
fairy, and healer who leads a sisterhood of nine.
Morgan le Fay, goes by many names, Morgue le Faye is found called:
Argante, Carvilia, Elven Queen of Avalon' Fata Morgana, High Priestess,
Lady of the Lake, Modron (from Morrighan), Modron, Mordron, Morgaine, Morgan le
Fee, Morgana (especially in Orlando Furioso). Morgana le Fay, Morgana, Morgane,
Morganetta, Morgian, Morgue la Faye, Queen of the Otherworld, or just The fay
or fairy.
She has many different stories of who she was as well.
Avalon thought of a sanctuary where spirits have special powers. King
Arthur's sword "Excalibur" was forged there as well as being healed by the
magic.
King Arthur is buried there and someday will magically become alive and
return to his former glory.
