Cleopatra decides to go to Rome with Caesar. After Caesar's assassination in 44 BC, Cleopatra lost her protector, she fears for her life and decides to return to Egypt. Before leaving, she meets Antony who promises her to protect her. In 42 B.C. Mark Antony summoned Cleopatra to Tarsus. Cleopatra arrived in style on a royal barge with a gilded stern, purple sails, and silver oars. Cleopatra dressed like Aphrodite and with her charisma and sorcery won over Anthony. Cleopatra seduced Mark Anthony. This same year Cleopatra gave birth to twins, Cleopatra Selene and later another child by Antony, Ptolemy Philadelphus. |
