        Cleopatra: her father was a Pharaoh, her mother was a Pharaoh, her brother was a Pharaoh, her sister was a Pharaoh, and Cleopatra was a Pharaoh, The most famous Pharaoh, The most mysterious Pharaoh, The most romantic Pharaoh, The last Egyptian Pharaoh, The last Egyptian Goddess .

        Cleopatra will remain in history, as unique for all times. Cleopatra was the queen of Egypt and almost queen of the world. Cleopatra played a dangerous game, against the most powerful men in the world ... and ... almost won.
Cleopatra has changes the course of history at a time when woman didn't even play a role in history. Cleopatra was one of the most powerful, strong willed, determined and complex women who ever lived.

        Cleopatra's motivation has fascinated people for centuries. Some consider her to be ambitious, others consider her to be dedicated to her duty to her country, her family and her children.
In any case, Cleopatra's intelligence, charm, will power, and determination are legendary.

        Cleopatra lived in Alexander a magnificent city in Egypt on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Today little remains of his ancient capital. Almost all had been destroyed by centuries of war, fire and submerged by a tidal waves and earthquakes in 335 A.D.
In the harbor, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world: the lighthouse of Alexandria. Built around 290 B.C., it was called "The Pharos", over 300 feet tall and many rooms.

        The Pharos was Egypt's most spectacular structures and Cleopatra's showplace where she often stayed, and left from in her royal barge. the island and the royal city offers insights into the enigmatic character of Cleopatra herself.
Cleopatra was not a woman of luxury but very powerful and had a very strong sense of politics. There was small temple of Isis. Cleopatra associated herself with Isis.

        At that time Egypt was on the verge of being taken over by Rome. Two powerful leaders are trying to get to power of the Roman Empire; Pompejus and Julius Caesar.
Caesar arrived, his main purpose to take control of Alexandria, Pompejus was killed by the Pharaoh to show support for Julius Caesar. However, Cleopatra showed up, hidden inside an Oriental carpet, when he saw Cleopatra, he became enchanted by her.
Caesar wound up supporting her goal to become the sole ruler of Egypt and brought in Roman soldiers to battle her brother.

        Julius Caesar was highly impressed by the Pharos, and said "whoever wants to conquer Egypt has to conquer Alexandria, and whoever want to conquer Alexandria has to conquer the harbor of Alexandria."
Soon after their victory Cleopatra and Caesar enjoyed a leisurely two-month cruise barge with the royal on the Nile all the way to Nubia (Ethiopia). Cleopatra became pregnant with Caesarion, further winning over Caesar's support.

        Cleopatra decides to go to Rome with Caesar. After Caesar's assassination in 44 BC, Cleopatra lost her protector, she fears for her life and decides to return to Egypt. Before leaving, she meets Antony who promises her to protect her.
In 42 B.C. Mark Antony summoned Cleopatra to Tarsus. Cleopatra arrived in style on a royal barge with a gilded stern, purple sails, and silver oars. Cleopatra dressed like Aphrodite and with her charisma and sorcery won over Anthony.

        Cleopatra seduced Mark Anthony. This same year Cleopatra gave birth to twins, Cleopatra Selene and later another child by Antony, Ptolemy Philadelphus.

        Octavian was in the power struggle and accused Cleopatra of witchcraft in controlling Marc Anthony and used this as an excuse to attack Egypt.
Cleopatra and Mark Anthony fought Octavian and lost. Mark Anthony fell on his sword and died in Cleopatra's arms.

        Octavian took over Alexandria, captured Cleopatra and intended to use her to show the greater strength of Rome.
Cleopatra killed her self to avoid this fate.
