Guenevere's role in Camelot

Guinevere of Camelot was the daughter of King Leodegrance of Cameliard in Malory and the wife of Arthur

Like other characters in Arthurian mythology, Guinevere was a paradox.

Guinevere
Alternative names: Guenevere, Guenever, Gwenhwyvar, Gwynwyfar, Guanhumara
Meanings: white phantom, white shadow, shadow across the light, ghost, possibly white dragon

Guinevere has a magical power to her famine charm, with which she could control men as she choose. She was in the center of everything.

King Arthur loved Guenever at first sight and said of her, " This damosel is the most valiant and fairest lady that I know living, or yet that ever I could find."

Merlin warned the king "As of her beauty and fairness she is one of the fairest alive, but, Guenever was not wholesome for him to take to wife, for he warned him that Launcelot should love her, and she him again.

Merlin forseen the impact Merlin Guenever would have on Camelot. An it came to pass.

Queen Guenever and Launcelot

Sir Launcelot du Lake, in all tournaments and
jousts and deeds of arms, both for life and
death surpassed all other knights.

At no time was Launcelot never overcome weakness
of the flesh and was marvelous in worship, and
honor.

Whether it was by magic or enchantment; Queen Guenever fell in love with him. For Launcelot was all a man can be and more. Love is a strange thing; it transcends all mortal virtue and will. While Sir Launcelot maintained his honor, Queen Guenever held him in great favor above all other knights.

It was clear to the other knights that Sir Launcelot loved Queen Guenever.

King Arthur, at the advise of his illegitimate son (who he should not have listened to) insisted that Queen Guenever be sentenced to the flame and Launcelot be killed.

Anyway Launcelot got away, went to France, got an army and saved Queen Guenever from the flame.

Sir Launcelot was far to nobel to take Guenever but set her free.

In the mean time King Arthur's bastard son took over the kingdom, and when Arthur returned, seen what happened and killed his bastard son. Arthur was mortally wounded in the process.

Queen Guenever's world was gone and she spent the rest of her days in a convent repenting for the things she caused to happen.
