Horus (Hor)

Horus is one of the most important deities of Egypt. He became the divine prototype of the Pharaoh.
Horus is two gods: "Horus the Child" and "Horus the Elder"

Horus was the son of Osiris (who was dead at the time) and Isis. He was probably born about 3100 B.C.when Upper Egypt conquered Lower Egypt and formed the unified kingdom of Egypt. He has some influence on that event

Horus the Child
Called: Harpocrates (Hor-pa-kraat; Golden Dawn, Hoor-par-kraat) is viewed as a little suckling child is represented as a young boy with a child's sidelock of hair, sucking his finger.
The Golden Dawn attributed Silence to him, presumably because the sucking of the finger is suggestive of the common "shhh" gesture.

Horus the Child; Harpocrates, was in constant danger from his evil uncle Seth, who had killed his father, Osiris before he was concieved. Horus the Elder Heru-Ur
Was the patron deity of Upper (Southern) Egypt from the earliest times. Seth was the patron of Lower Egypt. Horus upon reaching adulthood, avenges his father's death, by defeating and castrating his evil uncle Set. (or defeated Seth and cast him out into the desert to the West of Egypt - the Sahara). Thereby unifying all of Egypt.

Four Sons of Horus
The four sons of Horus were the protectors of the parts of the body of Osiris, and from this, became the protectors of the body of the deceased. They were: Amset, Hapi, Duamutef, and Qebhsenuef. They were protected in turn by the goddesses Isis, Nephthys, Neith, and Selket.
