The Eyes of a King

Once Upon a time a poor peasant took a loaf of bread while the baker was not looking. Noticing a loaf was missing, the baker who told one of the knights. The peasant was brought before the King, and admited taking the bread.

When the king asked why he did it, the peasant said "I can no longer stand to hear my Daughter Cry because she was Hungry" and the baker said Had I known, I would have given him the bread"

Now, the King had lost an Eye and had an artificial eye made by the Greatest craftsmen in the Kingdom. So perfect was it that no one could tell it from his natural eye. And the King said "You should be cast into the dungeon, but instead I will give you a test. May the Creator smile on you."

And King said: "If you can tell which of my eyes was made by the Creator, and which was made by man, I shall set you free and further instruct my royal kitchen to bring food to you and your family so that your family shall never again know hunger"

The peasant said with out hesitation "Your right eye is the one that the Creator gave you." The King said: "How can you be so sure? The peasant said " I know your right eye was given to you by the Creator because it is the one with Compassion in it."
The King was as good as his word. It came to pass as the King had said, and Everyone lived Happily Ever After.
