The LumberJacks

 

As the story goes. Once in the Great North there two lumberjacks called Jacque and Antoine who were competing for the hand of the beautiful Mademoiselle Rachel.

Well, Mademoiselle Rachel could not decide between Jacque and Antoine, both were extraordinary men, so she sugested a contest between the two men.

The beautiful Mademoiselle Rachel said she would marry the one who could clear the most forest from sun up to high noon in a single day. Both Jacque and Antoine were proficient lumberjacks and both quickly agreed.

The next day both men arrived before sunup and set up an area left and right, leaving a 50 foot strip of trees as a dividing line. At the appropiate time both men went about choping trees.

Antoine to the left smiled as he heard Jacque stop choping 10 minutes out of each hour. Both continued until Mademoiselle Rachel gave the signal that it was high noon.

As both men entered the clearing, it was clear that Jacque's area was mush Much larger. Antoine said" How can this be Jacque, I heard you rest 10 minutes each hour.
