| He Ain't Heavy...He's My Brother |
![]() by Sidney Russell and Robert Scott, The road is long With many a winding turn That leads us to who knows where Who knows where But I'm strong Strong enough to carry him He ain't heavy, he's my brother So on we go His welfare is my concern No burden is he to bear We'll get there For I know He would not encumber me He ain't heavy, he's my brother Bridge: If I'm laden at all I'm laden with sadness That everyone's heart Isn't filled with gladness And love for one another It's a long, long road From which there is no return While we're on the way to there Why not share And the load doesn't weigh me down at all He ain't heavy, he's my brother He's my brother He ain't heavy, He's my brother
Sometimes we where person just needs to be lifted up and carried
for a bit. Maybe be a family member, a loved one, a friend, or
stranger.
Our minds may say "it is not our problem" or "there will be no
reward or gratitude" But . . . our hearts tells us to reach out
anyway. Today, JoAnn told of an event. A minor car accident, no one hurt, no one noticed a small child traumatized by the event. A neighbor, with out saying a word, went to her house and produces a teddy bear for the suffering child. The child hugged the teddy bear and held it as a single source of security, in his small, uncertain world. I cannot be complete until all are complete. For I am all man, and if any are suffering, it diminishes me to some extent. Though we be many different people, yet we are all ONE |
