Nereids, sea-nymphs

The Nereids are the fifty daughters of Nereus and Doris who live in the Mediterranean Sea. Nereids are beautiful women who were always friendly and helpful to sailors fighting dangerous storms. Nereids are thought to be able to see the future and associated elisiting with fair weather from Poseidon.
