Poseidon,: the God of the Waters and Sea, Earthquakes

Poseidon (Latin Neptune; Etruscan Nethuris). Son
of the Titans Chronos and Rhea, brother of Zeus
and Hades. The god of earthquakes, water and
sea, and the tamer of horses. Contested with
Athena for the control of Attica, but his offer,
the salt spring, was rejected in favor of
Athena's gift of an olive tree. His wife is the
Nereid Amphitrite, and their son is Triton. He
also had Pegasus by Medusa and Arion by Demeter.
Attributes: Fierce and bearded, holding the
trident and accompanied by sea creatures and/or
horses.
