      The Samson and Delilah story is one of human strength and human weakness. Of virtue and vice. Of love and lust. The good and the bad in human nature. It is a story of white hot passion. Burning lust It is a story of extraordinary strength The will to battle against great odds for a nobel cause. It is a story of love and compassion. of commitment and betrayal. It is one of pride and sacrifice. A hero destroyed by a fatal flaw of personality, for he was human.

      In the book of Judges, God caused Samson to born to free the children of Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. God warned against cutting his hair. At that time the Philistines ruled Israel.

      Anyway Samson marries a Philistine woman, Delilah. Samson puts forth a riddle and is soon is at odds with some of the Philistines who threatens Delilah. Samson kills 30 of them.

      As it escalates, Samson sets fire to their farms. Then the Philistines want to get back at him. Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam. Samson found a new jawbone of an ass, and slew a thousand men.

      The lords of the Philistines came to Delilah and said to her, Entice him, and see where his great strength lies, and we will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver. Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, where your great strength comes from.

      Samson told her. In his sleep, Delilah bound Samson and shaved his hair. The lords of the Philistines came and blinded Samson.

      Samson was taken to prison, he hair of his head began to grow again. the Philistines said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they set him between the pillars which held up the house.

      The house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women.
Samson called to the Lord for strength to avenged of the Philistines for his two eyes.

      Samson took hold of the two middle pillars on which the house stood, and said, Let me die with the Philistines. Samson pulled with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were there.

      The dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. The rule by the Philistines came to an end.
