SETH: Egyptian god of evil.

However, as Upper Egypt had conquered Lower Egypt, the pharaohs of the south often portrayed Seth as the evil enemy of Hours (deity of Upper Egypt) and the victors write the history.

Seth is depicted in human form with a head of an aardvark, curved snout, square tipped ears and a forked tail.

Symbols: Seth-animal, pigs, donkeys, fishes

Seth was the son of Nut (sky) and Geb (earth) and other stories say it was Nut and Ra (sun). Seth Was associated with the desert and storms. and Lower (Northern) Egypt, and of course killing Os isis.

Seth was the brother of Osiris, Isis as well as Nephthys who was also his wife. Nephthy had an affair with Osiris and they had a son, Anubis

Seth never had any children.

Because of the affair with Osiris, Seth tricked him into a box and slammed the lid closed, sealed it with lead. Than dumped it into the Nile.

Eventuality Isis found the body of Osiris and impregnated her self. The offspring was Horus. Isis (who is magical) protected Hours from Seth's many attempts to kill him.

Horus us grew up and challenged the throne of Egypt. Most of the gods agreed with Hours and his mother Isis that Osiris' son was the rightful heir to the throne of Egypt, Re disagreed. The gods has a trial. The trial was stalemated for many years.

The cunning Isis appeared as a beautiful young woman. Seth saw her crying and asked what the matter was. Isis told a story that an evil man had killed her husband and was trying to steal her family's flocks.

Seth got angry at her plight and insisted that the evil man be destroyed and that the young woman's son should inherit the family's estate.

The decision to banish Seth came from a counsel of the gods, ruled by Re who was also convinced.

By his own words, Seth condemned himself, and lost the throne of Egypt.

Different stories say Hours kills Seth, castrated him or drove him into the desert. Anyway he is out of the picture. The upper and lower Nile united into one Egypt.
