self-esteem self-acceptance or self-love is based on living up to our own and other's ideal expectations. We feel good about ourselves when things are going according to standards we feel are right. We each are taught values by parents, teachers and others in our environment. Initially it may be associated with an external orientation, such as to gain respect of others, seeking money,grades, fame, attractiveness or to win. Our self-esteem grows in proportion to our goodness as told to us by others. True self-esteem comes only when our actions are highly valued and freely chosen or self-determined. When we live by our own standards of our goodness, True self-esteem and pride is sense of self and self-acceptance,
associated with intrinsic motivations, and comes when we study for pure joy,
