TETHYS

Tethys was the god-mother of Rhea and raised her during the civil war between the Titans and the Olympians.

The personification of the fertile ocean. She married her brother Oceanus and had over 3000 oceanids by him, they became the springs, lakes, rivers of the world.

Tethys is the wife of Oceanus. Together they produced the rivers and the three thousand ocean nymphs which play important roles later in mythology.
