Vulcan

Romans called him Vulcan Greeks called him Hephaestus
Hephaestus was the God of volcanic fire and of metal work He was
the son of Hera (and maybe Zeus).( Some say that Hera gave
birth to Hephaestus alone because she was angry with Zeus,
because Athena was born out of Zeus' head) without the
participation of Hera.
Mulciber is the Latin name of Vulcan.

his mother in a quarrel.

Still others say his lameness is on
account of his fall. He was a whole day
falling, finally landed in the Island of
Lemnos, which became sacred to him.

but she loved Ares
in the house of
Hephaestus whenever
he was away.
However Hephaestus,
with a clever
invention, trapped the
two lovers in
bed, and expose them
to the laughter
of the other OLYMPIANS.
