Wisdom Of The Ages: What is wisdom?

Wisdom as I see it is the ability to make good sound choices and decisions and had been called "Common sense in an uncommon degree." Wisdom is a form of intelligence shaped by experience and understanding. A person is not born with Wisdom but rather developers it, often by making mistakes, or learning from others mistakes and learning from them. The original meaning of the word philosophy is "love of wisdom," and people of all times of any place, religion, culture, race or any other parameter through out the Ages have exhibited Great wisdom.

Science had to do with understanding the laws of nature while Wisdom is about the laws of life and our place in the universe. A difference between "How" and "Why".

Literature dates from at least 3000 years ago, and is included in, But limited to, books such as The Bible, I Ching, The Koran, Tao Teh Ching, The Bhagavad Gita and teachings of people such as Aristotle, Buddha, Jesus, or Plato.

It is my opinion that wise men or women think for them selves, often in a different way than Those who follow the crowd. There seems to be an inner knowledge of ones own self and also of human nature.

Generally think more deeply about common things and can see many sides of the same issue at the same time and favors not one over an other because of personal preference.

Going to list some universal wisdom with a short explanation later but a journey of a thousand leagues starts with a single step.

The Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would be done by. Or more specifically treat others as they would like to be treated

Love thy neighbor as thy self for all men are created equal with the same rights as we claim for our selves. Be joyful for others rightfully gained happiness and success.

Stand For What You Believe In To your own self, be true, do what's in your heart, you know is right, believe in yourself, regardless of the odds, resistance and pressure to do the easy thing you know to be wrong. Follow dreams.

All cultures honor virtues such as courage, strength, love, honesty, loyalty, excellence, and Some of the virtues of those having Wisdom are often those on this list:
